Swan Lake Ballet Visit

Tuesday 22 November 2011

On a cold November Thursday afternoon, Years Five and Six queued up at the Theatre Royal, Bath to see Moscow City Ballet perform Swan Lake, by composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky...

The ballet tells the story of Siegfried, a dashing young prince, who falls in love with Odette, the beautiful Queen of the Swans, and how the evil sorcerer Von Rothbart is determined to use his magic to stop their happiness.

For a number of children this was the first time that they had seen a ballet performance like this on a big stage - what did they think?

"It was very, very, good, excellent even!" Ellie

"Has to be the best ballet I've ever seen" Chardaine

"I waited a long time to watch it! I do ballet and they are older than me... I thought I saw them doing first position!" Tia

"It must have been tiring doing all the dancing! Ann Marie

"I might go again..." Travis

"It had to be the best I've ever seen" Bethney
