At Longvernal, we are very proud of our induction programme. We aim to ensure a smooth transition to 'big school' for your child. You will be invited to an informative evening meeting; usually the term before your child starts school. Later that term, your child will enjoy a couple of 'taster sessions' in class one and will be invited to school on a weekly basis to borrow literacy and project packs.
We recognise that children's learning begins at home and in order to foster excellent home/school partnerships. You and your child will be personally invited into school for an appointment with your child’s new class teacher. At this meeting you will be able to share your valuable knowledge and insight into your own child’s strengths and needs.
