What is the PTFA?

The PTFA (Parent, Teacher, Friend Association) is an open and friendly group of parents, teachers, extended family and member of the local community, working towards a common goal; supporting the education of the children at Longvernal School and strengthening the school community.

The PTFA is a great way to get to know other parents and feel part of the Longvernal community.  When you support us, you’re not just baking a cake, donating money or giving up your time to volunteer. You’re buying your child playground equipment to climb on at break time, sending them on outings to places they’ve never been, making new friends, building a community and helping to make your child’s school even more brilliant.

There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer to support the PTFA. Any time you can offer will be extremely welcomed. No matter how much or how little you choose to get involved - it really is up to you.

The PTFA regularly hold events throughout the year, and we are always looking for new and exciting ideas to support fund raising.

During 2022 we are working towards reaching our £1,000 target to cover the cost of the new projector for the school hall, as well as fund raising ideas for purchasing new dictionaries and books for the reading corners set up in each classroom.

Events coming up will include;

Film nights with a supper
Used book sale
Fathers Day gift
Mufti Days
Raffles
School Faye

Every parent is automatically enrolled as a member of the PTFA.  Please do look out for our next PTFA meeting.  We look forward to your involvement in our school community.
